NJC Pay Claim 2014-15

NJC Pay 2014-15

The NJC Trade Union Side is submitting the following pay claim for our members covered by the National Joint Council for Local Government Services in 2014 - 2015:

A minimum increase of £1 an hour on scale point 5 to achieve the Living Wage and the same flat rate increase on all other scale points

  • Your pay has been frozen for three years
  • That's a real pay cut for each of those years
  • Your pay is the lowest in the public sector
  • And it's worth 10% less than in 1997
  • We know that costs are rising and many of you are struggling to make ends meet
  • 35% of part-time workers in local government earn less than the Living Wage
  • So do 7% of full-time workers
  • That's less than £7.20 an hour – or £8.30 in London

UNISON believe you deserve better. Your employers say they can’t afford more and could well suggest cuts to your conditions in exchange for a small pay rise. We say that they must pay up.
