As part of UNISON Somerset Branch's efforts to keep it's members up to date with Equality Issues, information will be made available to both Stewards and Members on this website to assist in resolving equalities issues locally with your in line-managers. Please feed back to the Branch Offices any Equality policies that you have found difficult to access locally.

Race equality and the learning and skills sector workforce – are we meeting the sector’s needs?

We are still in the early stages of collecting information from the survey carried out on "Part Time Working" by the Branch. As part of our continuous monitoring process of employment related issues, a copy of the survey will be kept on our website in PDF Format click here. Please complete the form and return to the Branch Office. Any other additional information given will be kept confidential at the Branch Office. This applies to all issues relating to Equality Opportunities.

Black and Minority Ethnic Workers.

Isolation is a real issue for Black and Ethnic Workers. Contact the Branch for information to join UNISON Black Worker's Self Organised Group for support and a forum to raise your concerns. Please forward your "equalities" related issues through you work place Stewarts to the Branch Office. Don't keep unresolved stressful issues to yourself. Share it with us. If you are not a member, join us today. Contact the Branch for a chat and application form to join the largest public sector workers union to protect your employment rights.
